Our story
A family business, born on a beach day
We're a husband-and-wife team, parents and lifelong beach people. SunKit started with a familiar scene that kept repeating: kids buckled in, towels packed, snacks ready, and the sunscreen still sitting on the kitchen counter.
Why we started SunKit
We tried keeping a “sun bag” by the door, but it was always missing something: the lip balm was in last year's jacket, the after-sun was empty, and nobody could remember who had packed the sunscreen. So we started building complete packs, one for the kids, one for the trail, one for the beach, and restocking them at the start of each season.
Friends started asking us to make packs for them. Then friends of friends. In 2026 we turned it into SunKit, so anyone can have a ready-to-go bag for the kind of day they're planning.
How we build a pack
- We start with a real situation, like a morning at the playground, a long hike or an afternoon at the lake.
- We test what you actually reach for and cut what you don't.
- We choose sizes that make sense for that day: pocket sticks for the trail, bigger bottles for the beach.
- We pack it all into something reusable, so the bag lives by the door all summer.
What we care about
Useful over flashy
Every item earns its place. If we would not use it on our own beach days, it does not go in a pack.
Clean and mineral
Mineral sunscreen only, from small brands with simple ingredient lists. Nothing we would not use on our own kids.
Packed by people
We check and pack every order ourselves, and we write every gift note by hand.
Less waste
Pouches are made to be reused all summer, and we keep packaging to a minimum.
